At Hephaestus Hand, we believe everyone should have access to a comfortable life, no matter what their situation is. We provide the lowest-cost, battery powered prosthetic hand for below the elbow and above the wrist amputations. Let us give you a hand so you can live your life to the fullest.

What is the Hephaestus Hand?

The Hephaestus Hand is an almost entirely 3D-printed prosthetic arm, designed specifically for people who have been amputated below the arm and above the wrist. Since it is 3D printed, every piece of the hand can be completely customized to the user's needs. Additionally, the Hephaestus Hand is immensely cost-efficient: the average production cost of one Hephaestus Hand is around 300 dollars, while other prosthetics on the market cost upwards of 65,000 dollars to make.

Our Goal

With a battery that is able to last all day, this prosthesis is able to provide the basic functionality of a real human hand. Being that trans-radial prosthetic hands can cost upwards of $60,000, the Hephaestus Hand has the potential to be pivotal in rehabilitating veterans and victims of war. Our goal is not to compete with the more advanced and expensive prosthetic hands, but to perform the essential functions such as picking up a glass of water. We aim to sell the hand to NGOs and prosthetic distribution companies domestically and internationally, operating as a for-profit Business to Business.
